Thanks to the support of local residents, we’ve finally (after four years!) convinced Elmbridge Council to bring back the free short stay parking they took away. Huge damage has been done to our high streets in that period, but hopefully they can now start to recover.

Back in 2021, a group of local Conservative councillors launched a community campaign to help local shops and revive our high streets after the Council stripped free short stay parking. Thousands of residents, signed our petition or shared your support. And while our Liberal Democrat run Council ignored us for many years, they’ve finally done what we all called for.

It shouldn’t have taken this long. And no doubt they’ll pretend it was their idea. But what matters now is that free short stay parking is in place and it’s a win for our community.

Conservatives willl keep standing up for practical, common-sense policies that support residents and local businesses.
