Meeting Emma Miles at Ansell Hall

When we secured the replacement of the old, derelict Ansell Hall, this was done on the understanding Fieldcommon would get its community hall back. Local people want Elmbridge Borough Council to keep their promise and provide residents in Fieldcommon with a community hall and space, rather than lease it to one organisation.

Recently, I met with Emma Miles from Home From Home Children’s Day Care who had been forced to move to Ansell Hall after the Council sold off the premises they used in Molesey. It is clear from those that responded to my recent survey that people want a community hall in Fieldcommon, but also value the childcare Emma is delivering.

I’ve spoken to the council and asked them to agree to a mixed use of the hall, with childcare provided, but the rest of the time the hall should be open for use by community groups and for hire. I'll carry on working with local campaigner Aliscia Butler to make this happen.

There is still time to feedback your views and tell me what you want the future of Ansell Hall to look like 👇
