As part of this Conservative Government’s £330,000 award from the Safer Streets Fund to tackle anti-social behaviour in Walton, five mobile CCTV cameras are being installed this week. The cameras will be installed at the following locations:
- Ashley Park
- Cowey Sale
- Ambleside Avenue
- Hepworth Way
- Drewitts Court Car Park
The aim of these cameras is not only to deter anti-social behaviour, but also to provide video evidence, if needed, to Surrey Police and local councils.
The £330,000 Safter Streets funding will also be used for youth outreach programmes, security measures in Drewitts Court Car Park, and improvements to the community garden in St John’s.
My Plan for our area includes more visible policing now Surrey has a record number of police, which is something I discussed recently with our Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner. You can read more here.
