Therese Coffey visits Molesey

Thank you to DEFRA Secretary of State, Thérèse Coffey, for joining me and Dominic Raab in Molesey to take a look at the unauthorised moorings blighting the riverbank.

Stretches of the riverbank in Elmbridge are owned by the Environment Agency (EA), an executive non-departmental public body sponsored by DEFRA. It was important to raise the longstanding issue riverside residents have been experiencing with illegal moorings, and ask for the Secretary of State’s support to press the EA to take necessary enforcement action.

I am delighted that Thérèse agreed to follow this up with the EA to ensure they are using all the tools at their disposal to see the permanent removal of these boats.
